c1953-70 Kramer Brooch & Lisner Earrings

Kramer Jewelry

Highly collectible today, Kramer jewelry started in 1943, in New York, by designer Louis Kramer and his two brothers - Morris and Henry. The company's jewelry pieces were of high quality and had the most fascinating designs. Out of business by 1970.

Lisner Jewelry

David Lisner and his family emigrated to New York City in 1864. In 1869, he and his two brothers went into business selling fine goods imported from Europe (e.g., jewelry, hatpins, crystal giftware). David continued that tradition. From 1904 to his death in 1923, David and his cousin Saul owned and operated the D. Lisner Company selling jewelry imported from Europe wholesale, particularly Elsa Schiaparelli’s Parisian jewelry. The Lisner company continued until about 1980. They did use Clear and colored rhinestones, particularly Aurora Borealis, iridescent rhinestones by Swarovski.

c1953-70 Kramer Brooch & Lisner Earrings

a vintage pair of Lisner earrings and a Kramer Brooch . Both feature beautiful red irridescent rhinestones, I believe to be those of Swarovski. This looks amazing worn together as earrings and a brooch but for variety, I sometimes wear the brooch threaded on my wide sterling choker as a pendant decoration at the throat.

This is a Kramer Brooch made between (1943 and 1970) in Aurora Borealis that I paired with some Lisner similar earrings (screw back type earrings).

Kramer brooch has 9 red stones . Kramer is known to having used the iridescent rhinestones Aurora Borealis by Swarovski.

hallmarked "Kramer" with copyright symbol. Large size brooch it is about 2 1/8" long and weighs about 34g on my postage scale.
